Book of Mormon

Gday (I hope you know no one really says that here)  Thursday was zone conference. And it was all about Baptism and the Book of Mormon the 2 biggest things for missionaries. All transfer (or zone conference to zone conference) we study a topic this time it was baptism. President Marquis randomly (as directed by the spirit) calls on missionaries to talk as we have all prepared a 10 minute talk on it. And what do ya know I got called up. I talked about my baptism the day before the 4th of July and the whole state of Utah was celebrating my baptism with parades and BBQ, and fireworks. Cause it's such a super cool thing to be baptized right? (Well it is but 4th of July was also the next day so...) but it was great, that was my 3rd talk I've given at a zone conference. Maybe my last(?). It was all really good and a great boost to go out and share the Book of Mormon really "thrusting in the sickle" but we were asked by the assistants to prepare a 5 minute mini lesson on a t

This week was a good one. We had district pday where we played sport... I love the elders but in all honesty none of them put up a challenge + as missionaries you cant box out or really guard... so that was cool. But then we had Missionary Coordination Meeting with the stake president. It was good, but I realized there needs to be a lot more going on. That meeting was all the fluff, we need to get down to the heart of things how we can really gather scattered Israel because I can assure you it doesnt happen at the hands of the missionaries. If it were up to us there would be no success. The members supply the real success through love and testimony. Thursday we had service at our ward mission leaders house, we pulled weeds and in return we got a life lesson on the gottman ratio. You need to have 5 positive experiences to every negative one to want to continue with something when you get to a 1 negative to one positive ratio you will stop doing it. But we have an assured 5 things to

I love the end of dead weeks cause then the miracles come.

I have a question for yous. If you saw the Savior and could ask one question what would you ask? (I'm serious. Answer this question) This past week was a good one. Stay tuned we have a guest writer this week 💕 Wednesday Thursday and Friday Sister Houston had swollen eyes the size of Texas... not even kidding it looks like shed gotten two black eyes and we had no idea why. So she got permission to sleep it off and stay at the flat. So we only escaped to teach our two lessons on Thursday. Other than that I deep cleaned out our pantry but can I tell you that was a spiritual experience. Yeah gross I know. But first one of our lessons was with a returning member who really wants to go see the Book of Mormon Musical (not cause she hates the church but because shes curious why it's really "so bad") we told her not too and then she said she couldn't be bothered cause tickets were like $80 dollars now.. small tender mercies of expensive tickets 😂. But th

Wednesday was so nice we just relaxed for pday and it was GREAT. Seriously my favorite pday so far on the mission and we didnt even do anything... then we went to Hector and Lavini the sweetest family in the world! We taught about the sacrament and Lavini perked up, she hasnt ever had a religion before and she is searching, Hector has been baptized before but he is searching for a church he likes. They are incredible. We read 3 nephi 18 with them and invited them to church. And Lavini you could tell she really wanted to come. She's so sweet, our focus was on Hector but now we know the way is through Lavini! She's incredible! Thursday we did some follow ups then had district council... in all honesty I am not sure how I feel about this district but then we had council and I got the full picture of how it's going to be! But Elder Bently, (we served the past 3 months together in Prospect Ward) was awesome, bringing ideas we had implemented there to here and its gonna be a

Pretty full on week this week.  And most important news first I AM AN AUNT I'M AN AUNT I'M AN AUNT. AYDEN THOMAS STEINER WAS BORN ON THE 14TH. He looked like a little alien in the first photo but don't worry hes the cutest thing in the world now! 💕 ok now back to missionary work Thursday was pretty cool actually. We asked a lady we are teaching, Deanne, for referrals. She gave us 2 her mom and grandma so we went by to visit them and the mom was kinda nasty to us but we offered service and she snappily asked Why?! We said we just want to help so immediately her heart softens and she let's us in for a little to talk about family history and then clean up a little bit. We tried sweet Yvonne but she wasn't home sadly, I love Yvonne she's an angel and I was excited to follow up on the BOM reading with her! Then we saw Susan, a referral from the assistants she's wild and just wants help with her family history, so we willed out a 4 generation chart, and now hopef

This week can be explained by the scripture that says "And it came to pass that he returned to his own house at Jerusalem; and he cast himself upon his bed, being overcome with the Spirit and the things which he had seen." Except I didnt even have the energy to cast myself on my bed I literally had to climb. Continually having the holy ghost is draining in the best possible way. Thursday we went to the ear doctor because my ears are not agreeing with anything I do. And I was told "I cant tell you what's wrong, your ears are perfect. Straight out of a textbook." Ok thank you for that, but no fix my ears please... but then we went to NannaJ's shes an angel and such a safe haven! We chatted with her and never have I ever felt more empowered than when I'm with her!! ... then we had to go to Ward Council, that was fun. I spoke up and said, "you dont have to like us personally as missionaries, but we only ask for some respect." We got shot down r

Wednesday we had a lesson with the family we are working with and had the mom and daughter teach us and they were "companions" which was a little rough for them, at first, but it was really good!! Very powerful lesson! 💕 Thursday was a MAJOR call to repentance given by yours truly. I'm not proud that I had to do it, but I was impressed with myself that I was bold enough to do it, and I truly did it out of love and not of authority. But you could see it changed some of the elders, some slunk and some sat up, and I can tell you now those that sat up saw miracles this week!! I called them to repentance, shared miracles and gave advice. Which is what district councils are... minus the call to repentance but the shading miracles and giving advice/counseling is exactly what it's all about!! We then went and saw a few people we needed to see then threw together a last minute sport night, aka the sisters ran to k-mart to buy stuff to use... but it worked out. We did it.
